Briana and David’s wedding made me really think… when is the first time you can remember crying tears of joy?
Bri’s sweet daughter, Ella, gave in to tears after David gave her a necklace as part of their ceremony. He vowed that he would always take care of Ella as his parents, and especially his late father, had always taken care of him. I love the images of Ella cuddled into Bri as her mom and David were announced as husband and wife, and her tiny arms wrapped around her mom’s waist during the couple’s first kiss. I love her little sparkly shoes next to David’s during their own father-daughter dance.
Walking back to the bride’s room to sign the license, Ella said, “I’ve never cried like that before.” It’s such a rare thing, tears of joy, and I’m humbled that we were there to witness hers and the tears of many others during Briana and David’s wedding. These two are truly something special.
Which is not to say that there weren’t quite a few laughs on their day as well. From Briana’s silly faces (which I’ve loved ever since their engagement photos– man, when she’s happy, you know she’s happy!) to kids with no lack of personality, to surprise guest cake feedings, there was a lot of fun to be had too. I especially love those kids on the Villa’s throne chairs. They looked like kings and queens of Narnia, so I asked them to look regal… this is what they came up with. Hilarious.
Congratulations you two, and I hope you had a fabulous tropical honeymoon!
