As we saw at their engagement session, Elizabeth and Matt are a couple with no lack of personality. They assured us that this was true for their friends and family as well, and they were quite serious. Just check out the entries on the couple’s Bingo rehearsal dinner ice breaker game- this is a group of highly intelligent, capable, artistic folks who are willing to dress like newsboys and do an old-timey jig while playing the harmonica.
Because, you see, this was no ordinary rehearsal dinner. Matt and Elizabeth arranged for a talent show to commence after dinner. There were poems and songs and even a juggler. The kids sang songs from “Frozen” (of course), did the splits and read internet memes like stand-up comedians. Sitting outside under the, well, clouds (it stopped pouring, so we were all happy for just clouds, even if we didn’t get stars) high in the Colorado mountains, watching a family friend nail an acapella version of “Sunrise, Sunset”… I’m not sure there could have been a better start to this tender, personal celebration.
