So many cousins last weekend! After our birthday party photos, we had a fun extended family portrait session at our new studio space. When family is in town, I think it’s not only fun to get everyone together for portraits, but it’s really important, too. It’s especially important for cousins who don’t always get to see each other, since cousins are really your first life-long friends. We were excited to help capture this brief moment of togetherness!
The Wessell and Wohlleber clans came down and helped us break in our new place at The Studio. We’ve been looking for a place like this, designed for portrait work, because in the winter when family is in town it might be 60 degrees or it might be zero. Knowing Colorado, if you have big portrait plans and no indoor location- it will be freezing. I love that the light there gives us a really classical look, but also allows for more candid shots too- like the one of all the kids pretending to cry. Baby Wessell had just wanted to be held by this point in the shoot, but we were game to try one more set up, and the big kids were excellent listeners. Her mom picked her up within a few seconds, but I can already see the Christmas card caption: “Wishing You Tears of Joy This Holiday Season!”
