Lexie and Chris’s wedding was a fairy tale. It’s easy to claim when the bride is 2012’s Miss Wyoming and the groom is a safety for the Philadelphia Eagles- that’s about as American a fairy tale as you can get. But that’s not why their wedding reaches storybook status. Lexie and Chris are just the sweetest, kindest, most genuine people you could ever hope to meet. Their warmth and hospitality (modeled lovingly by their parents) draws good people to them, and their love for each other is abundant and clear. We’ve loved helping to capture their story since Chris proposed here in Denver, and their wedding was a wonderful ending and new beginning in that story.
I joke that everyone in Wyoming knows each other. It’s the only place I’ve ever been able to say, “Do you know so-and-so?” and the person I’m talking with always says something like, “Oh sure! Their son was my kid’s camp counselor!” Wyoming is like one big, spread out community. Lexie and Chris’s event outside Sheridan at the Big Horn Equestrian Center included family and friends from all over the world, but it still had a very small town wedding feeling. You know you’re at a small town event when the gentleman in the cowboy hat carefully lighting all the candles tells you about how he used to change the bride’s diapers (sorry Lexie!). Weddings are not just for the couple- they are community events that draw friends and family together with common experiences, common celebrations. Lexie and Chris’s whole community was definitely loving on them, pulling for them and supporting them that day!
A couple fun details- Lexie’s gown is modeled after the one she wore for her Miss America run. Both dresses are couture, designed and built by Madden family friend Gaspar Cruz. Lexie’s father is an award winning auctioneer, so he auctioned off the garter at the end of the night. That really fun to watch, and a perfect little family detail.
Congratulations again you two! We’re so honored to have wonderful, kind couples like you, and we wish you all the best! -A&D
Gorgeous wedding. They thought of everything and you photographed all of it beautifully! This wedding looks like it was a blast! What an awesome album this will make!
