Miss Mave proves that everyone should have a crown you can dip in icing and lick clean.
This was the fastest Cake Smash session ever! It was going to rain any minute, big Colorado thunderheads all around us, in fact it was raining on me as I drove up from Denver to Golden. But the cake had been acquired and the props assembled, so we decided to give it a whirl. And then it didn’t rain- we flew through the session with nary a drop- giving Mave plenty of time to enjoy her cake!
Mave’s mom and grandma are both occupational therapists, and it was a good lesson for me that what you think might be bothering a child might not really be the problem. A lot of kids dig right in to cake, and a lot of kids don’t love being dirty and slimy with icing. But it might be that your cute vintage high chair is a little scary, or it might be that the tutu is a little itchy, or it might be that everyone is suddenly really far away, and that’s why the baby is crying- not the cake. The more we paired things back, the happier Mave was, and then she loved the cake. She loved it so much she stuck her little toes right in!
Happy Birthday Mave! -A&D
Awe, what a cutie for sure! I love her little crown. Adorable!
