If there is one thing we learned at Samara and Mike’s engagement session, it’s that Samara loves nature. Pine cones, sunflowers, very civic-minded elk- it doesn’t matter, she loves it all. Samara and Mike’s alfresco affair at the Villa Parker gave them plenty of beautiful Colorado scenery to work with. It rained on and off all day too in perfect little Colorado sunshowers- it was funny watching their out of town guests sort out our weather. Kelley Prather of Kelley Kakes made an amazing modern Colorado chic cake. Plus, the structural flowers on Samara’s dress complimented the big pink roses in her botanical tattoos. Nature, nature everywhere!
My favorite part of their day, though, was the early parts of dinner and toasts. Samara and Mike have fun-loving, close knit families and friends, and they had a great time with the pine-beetle wood Jenga and making each couple at dinner kiss by clinking glasses and egging them on. Samara’s dad is truly a sweetheart- he made us all cry when he talked about meeting her mom during his toast.
Mostly, though, I think you can see so clearly how much Mike and Samara love each other. They absolutely get lost in each other, and it was such an honor to witness and record their story.
Absolute best wishes to you both! -A&D
Beautiful pictures. Congratulations Samara
