Venessa and Timm held their wedding up in Breckenridge at Blue Sky Resort. We loved the decor, both modern and rustic, that went with this wedding full of contrasts. It was a little sweet and salty, a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll. For example, Venessa’s shoes were high fashion chartreuse Kate Spade numbers, while Timm’s groomsmen were decked out in hunting camouflage gear. Everything flowed together wonderfully, though, just like Timm and Venessa, and the contrasts only served to heighten the flavor.
Mostly, we loved to seeing how important family was to this couple- both the family you’re born with and the family you choose. Timm’s relationship with Venessa’s family is really very special, and when Venessa’s grandmother kneeled in front of her to give her a blessing before she walked down the aisle- believe me, people in hotel rooms adjacent to us started crying without knowing why.
Oh, and if you’re ever in Canada and you want to get the bride and groom to kiss- don’t clink your glass. You’ll probably end up giving a toast you didn’t want to give. Wheel your napkin above your head instead. Just keep an eye out for your neighbors!
