Occasionally, our blog loses its little mind and it becomes difficult to update. I went to share these photos on today, Vicky and Naam’s 1st Anniversary, and I realized that we only shared them on our Kokoro Facebook. Boo! They had far too wonderful a wedding to leave the images just to Facebook. Thankfully, we have new blogging software that makes it much easier to share with everyone so we could get their images up today!
First of all, I have to tell you how much I cherish this woman, and how great it was to get to know Naam. I know Vicky from Pepperdine, and it was such fun to have friends around for their wedding too. Our super amazing friend Jim, whose wedding we’d photographed in New York the previous spring, even grabbed a camera and played assistant all day since his husband had to work. He did an excellent job! It was also gratifying to have him say that our job is exhausting- sometimes I just feel like a big whiner after photographing a wedding.
Vicky and her family and friends worked really hard on getting everything put together for the event. It was raining like crazy, hence the adorable red rain boots, so there was a lot of work making sure everyone at this beautiful private home in Agoura Hills wouldn’t just sink into the mud. Their wedding was quite the multicultural affair too! Everything from huge, steaming plates of Spanish paella, to ninja cake toppers, to Indian dances, to what Vicky called a “hippie Jewish ceremony” complete with shofar, drums, and an instrument I can only describe as a squeezebox.
Most of all, my dear sweet Vicky was happy and gorgeous and Naam made her laugh like crazy. A year later it’s clear that they’re still just as happy and just as ridiculous, which makes the world a better place for all of us.
