I’ve Seen Fire and I’ve Seen Rain

March 27, 2012

Yesterday was kind of a crazy day. We started the morning in Los Angeles afterJen and Jonathan’s wedding. It had rained like mad the night before, and our friends Jim and Derek’s backyard looked like an orange juice commercial, all bright and dripping with rain. We got home to Denver in the afternoon to the huge Lower North Folk fire. It has been smoky and red, like something on Mars. Quite the contrast…

This piece of graffiti was right by where I was taking pictures of the fire. It’s the end of the Highline Canal, but it seemed a little ominous at the time!

Nice visuals… way to carve out some time to explore with your camera! It’s so easy to forget we have such great jobs as wedding photographers, but then when we see a camera we so easily associate it with ‘work.’ Way to ‘play!’ Love the orange diptych!

Thanks RJ- working on that 101 in 1001 list has taught me that “play” time with the camera really doesn’t have to take that long. When something unusual is happening it’s especially worth the 30 minutes to get off my butt and away from the computer.
