Kelly and Adam rock. They just do. One look at their barely contained silliness and obvious joy at being married tells you all you need to know.
The couple is good friends of ours from AfterHours, our tiny weird bar church, and it has been our pleasure to get to know them and serve beside them for the past couple years now. And there’s something about coming together as a community, to have all our misfit friends and congregants join to celebrate a wedding or a memorial service that just solidifies that community even further. I don’t know what it is about those rituals, but it’s kind of magical.
Kelly and Adam married at Washington Park UMC, where Kelly works, and I love how they transformed the courtyard into a place of celebration with lawn games, Izze toasts (They had everyone open their cans of Izze at once for the real commercial-style refreshment noise) and more bubbles than they could almost navigate. They were surrounded by loving family (especially adorable nieces and nephews- love the polka dots and sunflowers) and friends from near and far!
Love you both, and congratulations again! -Amanda
