Michelle and Lance – Boulder Engagement

November 25, 2013

We’ve been slightly annoyed that many of our favorite engagement locations have remained closed since the massive flooding this fall – it’s a very, very minor problem compared to losing your home for example, but a problem nonetheless. Michelle and Lance suggested NCAR in the hills above Boulder as a possible spot, and I have to say it will definitely join the ranks as one of our favorites. Beautiful light, gorgeous overlooks, and a happy, in-love couple- all the things that make a photographer’s heart joyful! It was especially perfect for Michelle and Lance since we could incorporate places like the 3rd Flatiron, which they love to climb together- they’ve even climbed it at night! It was so nice watching Michelle and Lance talk about the things they love to do together- you can really see their connection. Looking the other way over the city also gave us an “I can see my house from here!” moment. I love how Michelle’s red shoes pop off the dark pines, too.

We’ve still got our fingers crossed that Sunrise Amphitheater will be open and ready for Michelle and Lance’s wedding in the spring. It seems to be open currently, but we know that big spring snows could wreak havoc on recently damaged roads (not to mention those above families who are still struggling to find permanent shelter), so we’re sending good thoughts to the entire region. Here’s to a happy, safe winter and a wedding to match!
