Susan and Jeff- Brown Palace Hotel Wedding

February 3, 2014

Slowly, slowly we’re working our way through all our wedding that didn’t get blogged when our blog was being fussy. Last week with all the dark and grey of winter made me think of this cartoon about how the second half of winter is much uglier than the part with the holidays. I thought perhaps we should revisit the first part of winter instead! Susan and Jeff’s wedding was an excellent example of how beautiful the holidays can be. The Brown Palace does a serious job of decorating. All those twinkle lights add so much magic to an already beautiful space.

Susan and Jeff took all the tradition and elegance of the Brown and added their own twist. From Susan’s vintage inspired dress that showcased her very modern tattoos, to their double church and Korean wedding ceremonies, every part of their day was both a nod to the past and family, and also an embrace of all the little things that make them who they are today.

One of the things that is very important to them are all the kids in their lives. Their daughter played a special part in their day, and I’m glad we had some time without a million guests around to get some pictures of just them together. Susan and Jeff also had a veritable army of children in their wedding party- I love the shot of Jeff’s mom shushing the kids at the alter. The kids tried so hard to behave, but the excitement of the moment was just overwhelming!

The Brown again did a splendid job with the decor at their reception. I especially loved the cake- it was simple and modern, but still kept the glitz. A bluegrass band kept the party entertained into the night!

Susan and Jeff- it was fun to revisit your wedding, and congrats on your new addition!
